Community Involvement

Our company’s core philosophy is anchored in a belief that for a business to survive and prosper, it must develop and use its capabilities to create sustainable value for both its customers and society. That’s why we invest locally and support programs to address needs in our community.

Working directly with local organizations is a key focus, and the company invests in four key areas:

Education: Support programs that give students and future workers the skills necessary for today’s workplace. This includes Parish school initiatives, local scholarships, and STEAM programs.

  • River Parishes Community College Scholarships
  • STEM Camp
  • Wildcat Productions
  • College and Career Center Initiatives
  • St. James High School A.C.E. Banquet

Community Enrichment: Work with organizations that support community needs and allow for employee engagement through volunteering.

  • Hurricane Ida relief efforts
  • Food and toy drives
  • Bonfire Festival
  • Veteran’s Celebration

Hurricane Ida Relief
After Hurricane Ida hit southeast Louisiana in 2021, Koch Methanol St. James and our employees sprang into action. The storm left millions in the dark, including our community and our employees. As our employees worked hard to get the facility back online, they also gave their time and energy to help neighbors by quickly distributing vital supplies. Our team handed out hundreds of tarps and thousands of bags of ice within days of the storm. Soon after, we prepared hundreds of supply and food bags from items donated by Convoy of Hope, cooked jambalaya for hundreds, and distributed Quilted Northern and Brawny products.

The abilities and spirit of the amazing team at Koch Methanol St. James, and our commitment to our neighbors and the health, safety and prosperity of this community are what keep us going. Koch Methanol St. James is honored to be part of the St. James community and its bright future.
